Want To Match My Kundli Online
Ubuntu server console resolution
I found two very useful articles for those interested in taking the first steps on Ubuntu server:
For the tests I have done so:
NB 1: I created a virtual machine with VirtualBox:
1) set the network configuration bridge so you can bet the host server IP address virtual.
2) When installing the Ubuntu server, I chose to install and configure Automatic LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP / Perl / Python) and OpenSSH.
NB 2: Installing Webmin :
1) I downloaded the latest version in deb format the official site (browsing from the console with links2 !): http://www.webmin. com / index.html
2) I installed webmin by downloaded deb: dpkg-i
... a message that warns of the need to install some packages required dependencies from webmin.
3) I checked the missing dependencies are referring only to the new program we are installing:

Note 3: use the browser to start webmin host, using the IP address of the server on port 10000 (http s):

The server distro with only the text mode, you can find a console window with very small, especially if we are in a virtual machine. In
Ubuntu server (GRUB), the solution I've found on the net is as follows
(everything that follows should be executed by root ).
Open the GRUB configuration file (eg with nano ):
nano / etc / default / grub Replace GRUB_GFXMODE the command with the following command:
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX = 800x600x24 Save and exit the editor and run the command that applies the corrections to GRUB: update-grub
When you restart the virtual machine window we will size to 800x600, making it a little more comfortable working from the console! ;-)
NB: to know the resolutions accepted by the system, press the "c" as soon as you start GRUB.
This will open the GRUB console where you can run some commands. Type
help to see the list of commands allowed.

fstab and UUID
within / etc (according to the standard Filesystem Hierarchy Standard FHS ) in GNU / Linux, among the various configuration files, any one (fstab) that specifies which devices must be installed with their options. Normally
to identify a device (a specific disk partition) is convention to use a UUID instead of the code name of the file system.
If you add or remove a disc, the system may change the file names and to restore the system you have to suitably amend the fstab file. Using
universal codes associated with each partition, this problem does not occur, because the mapping between file system and mount directory need not be changed.
In systems Ubuntu and you can see the file system and its UUID by using the following commands.
To view a list of all disks and partitions recognized by the system:
example in my system the output is as follows: Device Boot Start End
and to see its UUID, simply run the command:
